BIOGRAPHIES OF THE DIRECTORS

Greg Delahoussaye is currently a high school Social Studies teacher. He grew up in Los Angeles where he received a B.A. degree in History and teaching credentials the following year. He started his career in education in 1975. The following year, he took his first group of students on a tour to Washington D.C. He has been leading student groups to Washington for more than 25 years but by far the black college tours are the most popular tours that Educational Student Tours offers. Greg is also a well-organized and efficient tour leader who is a well known to a number of civic organizations and corporations who have sponsored students to go on the tour.

As an educator, Greg has dedicated his career to ensuring that students receive the best educational opportunities. Beyond working out all the details for the tours, he always offers to give college selection advice to participants and their parents. His commitment has not gone unnoticed and year after year, both he and Yasmin have been honored for outstanding service to the community by the media, and a whole host of other organizations.

 

Dr. Yasmin Delahoussaye is currently Vice President of Student Services at Los Angeles Valley College and an adjunct professor in the School of Education at UCLA. She holds a B.A. degree in History from California State University, Los Angeles; a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Yasmin began her teaching career in 1975. As a former high school and community college counselor, she is well aware of the type of students that each college seeks and is able to talk directly to admissions officials at these colleges. In addition to being a career educator, Yasmin was appointed by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to the Los Angles City Human Relations Commission and by Governor Arnold Schwarnegger to the California State Student Aid Commission which is responsible for administering state financial aid programs.
